Court orders sheep to be sheltered at orphanage

In Ghana, an Accra District Court has ordered for a lost but found sheep to be granted shelter at the Osu Children's Home.

The presiding judge, Stephen Owusu, made the order after a 45-year-old man, Kofi Asante, was arraigned for stealing a ram in front of Sikkens Ghana Limited on the Graphic Road on September 16. According to Kofi Asante, his decision to steal the ram was because its owner was nowhere to be found.

Two army officers have been arrested for allegedly partaking in the abduction of Margaret Emefiele, wife of Central Bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele, PremiumTimes reports.
According to the news platform, the State Security Service and the Police arrested Musa Maidabara, a corporal attached to the 322 Artillery Regiment, and Edwin George of 371 Artillery Regiment in Maiduguri.

We recovered N93m, hard currencies from 3 judges – DSS

The Department of State Services (DSS) says it has recovered over ninety-three million naira from the houses of three judges.
In a statement issued on Saturday by Abdullahi Garba on behalf of the DSS, it also alleged that a judge in one of the states had two million dollars in cash stashed in his house.
Garba further said that Justice Walter Onnoghen was not arrested neither is he under investigation.

Nigeria Customs Service lifts ban on importation of rice

The Nigeria Customs Service has lifted the ban on importation of rice, the agency’s spokesperson Wale Adeniyi has revealed.

According to him, the Comptroller-General of the body, Colonel Hameed Ali (rtd) also okayed the decision to reintroduce the import duty payment at land borders.

AMNESTY PROGRAMME TO END IN 2017 - FG

The Federal Government has announced that the Amnesty Programme for the Niger Delta militants will end in 2017.

Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta and Coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Brig.-Gen. Paul Boroh, said this while addressing some ex-fighters trained as electrical engineers who were in his office to present a transformer they worked on to him.

 Muhammadu Buhari had, on assumption of office, approved a two-year extension of the programme till 2017.
