A former senator in Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Anietie Okon, has been ordered to pay the sum of N100,000 for physically assaulting a newspaper vendor, Ndifreke Etim in the state house.
However, the newspaper vendor Etim disclosed that the senator had slapped him multiple times after he rushed towards him thinking he called him to bring some newspapers. He added that the senator also accused him of stealing his wallet which was a lie.
This incident was reported to have taken place in September last year, during the swearing-in of Awong Effiong Achianga, as the chairman of Akwa Ibom state Council of Traditional Rulers.
