Non-payment of allowances: Falcons protest at National Assembly

Nigeria’s senior female soccer team Super Falcons have taken protest to the National Assembly over the non-payment of their allowances by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

The Falcons are yet to be paid their allowances after winning the African Women Championship for the eighth time, defeating hosts Cameroon 1-0 in the final.

The players who wore their national team jersey on shorts carried placards with inscriptions such as, “We are your heros, our labour should not be in vain”, “We served with all our might, we deserve to be honoured”, “We are your children, daughters. Maken us happy!!!”
