Female footballer slumps into coma after receiving N10,000 from NFF

One of the players who represented Nigeria at the U-20 Women’s World Cup in Papau New Guinea has been hospitalised in the traumatic unit of a hospital in Abuja.

The defender, Mary Ologbosere, who recently lost her father was left depressed due to the Nigeria Football Federation’s inability to pay them.

Family members of the defender were expecting her to foot the bill for the burial, but she and her colleagues were handed a meagre N10000 by the football body on Wednesday afternoon to return home.

Shocked by the treatment, Ologbosere cried all through the night and was rushed to the hospital, before being admitted to the traumatic unit.

“She is totally shattered by this heartless treatment,” simply reported a team official at the Serob Legacy Hotel.

“It’s truly a pathetic case.”

The N10,000 paid each player was the only money they received from the NFF since they opened training camp for the World Cup earlier this year.
