My constituency has been marginalised - Assemblyman cries for help

By Ntakrok AkwaIbom

Since the creation of Mbo Local Government Area in 1989, Akwa Ibom State Government has not tarred nor constructed any road in the area despite their contribution to the development of the state, said the Member representing Mbo in the State House of Assembly;Hon Samuel Ufuo.

According to him, the only road in Mbo was the one constructed by Late Sir Etim Inyang, former Police Inspector General.
Hon. Ufuo decried the state of the bridge linking Udesi/Ebughu and the road network of Udesi, Oruko and Udung Uko.
He called on the government to intervene by constructing the road which has already cut off his people from other communities.
"Mbo is rich and endowed with natural resources yet my people are suffering. The government is so insensitive to the plight of my people. My people have been neglected and forgotten which is so disheartening". He called on the Government to establish its presence in Mbo especially in the area of infrastructure.
The Assemblyman lamented the moribund state of health care facilities in Mbo that have become derelict and outdated as there are no effective health care workers to look after the people of Mbo.
"Life is difficult with my people especially in the riverine area of Efiat community where there is no health care facilities. The abandoned Enwang Etebi road is impassable and death trap for my people."
