African player wins English Premier League Award

Senegal’s Sadio Mane, who plays for Liverpool football club has been voted as Player Of the Month in the English Premier League for the months of August and September.
The winger beats the likes of Kevin De Bruyne of Manchester City and Etienne Capoue of Watford to the award.
In the PFA fans poll, held on Sky Sports’ website and apps, in which nearly 78,000 voted, the Liverpool attacker won the award comfortably with 38,199.
Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne came second with 24,340 votes, way ahead of Watford midfielder Etienne Capoue in third with 6,256. Rounding off the top six were Diego Costa (4,247), Michail Antonio (3,116) and Curtis Davies (1,837).
The 24-year-old beat the competition justifiably after a sensational start to the season with his new club.
The attacker has become a crucial part of Jurgen Klopp’s side since his arrival from Southampton in the summer, scoring three goals in just five league games.
It is not a coincidence that the club’s only league defeat of the season against Burnley was missed by Mane through a shoulder injury, highlighting how vital he really is.
The Senegalese has helped them fire on all cylinders, with their most recent win courtesy of a 5-1 demolition of Hull City at Anfield last Saturday.
Alongside Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino, Liverpool’s frontline trio have been superbly fluent and a bundle of energy.
Jurgen Klopp’s side have netted an incredible 24 goals in eight matches across all competitions this term, breaking a 121-year-old record.
