A'Ibom House of Assembly begins screening of nominees for Boards and Commissions * [see full list of Chairmen & Members]

Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, led by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Onofiok Luke, has started screening nominees for boards and commissions in the state.

Speaking at the conference room of the Assembly during the screening of the nominees the Speaker said the House expects nominees who will scale the screening to think outside the box, and also bring their ideas and innovation to bear on their duties, saying the task before them is to help the governor fulfill his sustainable development promise to the electorate.

Responding on behalf of the nominees, a chairmanship designate for the Local Government Service Commission, Sir. Dr. Val Attah and his counterpart for the Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic board, Dr. Mrs. Akon Eyakenyi, thanked Governor Udom Emmanuel for the confidence reposed in them.

They equally appreciated the leadership of the House and members for the innovation introduced in the screening exercise, describing the interactive session, which is a departure from the norm, as testament to the quality of representation the state is blessed with in the sixth Assembly.
