ANIEKAN UKO ASSURES A'IBOM OF SPEEDY PASSAGE OF PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED BILL

"As a house that is committed to the service of the people of Akwa Ibom which the physically challenged persons are included, I want to assure you on behalf of the members of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly that the bill at hand which seeks for a law to protect the physically challenged persons against all forms of discrimination and to provide for equal opportunities in all aspect of living in the society and for connected purposes will be given speedy attention"
This was the submission of the member representing Ibesikpo Asutan State Constituency,Rt.Hon.(Elder) Aniekan Uko during his vote of thanks at the public hearing on A BILL FOR A LAW TO PROTECT THE PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED PERSONS AGAINST ALL FORMS OF DISCRIMINATION AND TO PROVIDE FOR EQUALL OPPORTUNITIES IN ALL ASPECT OF LIVING IN THE SOCIETY AND FOR CONNECTED PURPOSES held at the conference room of the AKHA.
For the Ibesikpo Asutan mouthpiece,the bill is passionate as it strives toward creating a better life for the physically challenged persons in the state.
Elder Uko commended the Honourable Speaker Barr.Onofiok Luke for coming up with such a people oriented bill.
"I want to thank my brother the Speaker for this timely bill. If I may recall,it was during my reign as the speaker that the speaker then as a member confronted me in my office with this bill after I appointed one Mr.Ime Benson my SA on disability matters, and I saw it as a bill the the generality of Akwa Ibom will be pleased with"he reminiscent.
The Business and Ethics Chair thanked all the physically challenged person present at the public hearing for availing themselves of the opportunity in seeking a way forward to better their lives for the future.
While thanking Princess Felicia Bassey whose committee put up the public hearing and other members for their support to the bill,the astute lawmaker promised the physically challenged persons of the endless desire of government to better their lives.
